Lilo and Stitch has always been one of my all-time favorite Disney movies. It’s a huge part of my personality and in my early teen life (I was 13 in 2002 when it first came out).
I’ll deep dive a bit more about my obsession with Lilo and Stitch in another post, but I think one of the main themes that captured me that was relatable was being a bit of a loner or the weird one.
I grew up as a tomboy, so a lot of my interests were mostly sports and video games. I also didn’t have a lot of friends that liked anime as much as I did. So you can only imagine how hard it was in the 90’s and early 2000’s was to make friends at this time who don’t have the same similar interests as you at that age.
I remember I was actually in San Francisco visiting family when I first saw it in theaters back in 2002, and I still laugh at the part where Lilo said to Stitch, ‘Why can’t you build something instead of wrecking it?” and then he quickly made a whole replica of San Francisco out of household things 🤣

When they first announced that they were making a live action version of Lilo and Stitch, I was a bit skeptical, but I had faith in the project knowing that they were going to bring back Chris Sanders, the original creator, to basically consult and be a producer of the movie.
I could go on and on about why Lilo and Stitch is such a huge part of my life, but I just wanted to share my initial reaction of the Live-Action Lilo and Stitch trailer.
There’s pure joy, nostalgic relief, and of course, excitement to relive and witness my favorite Disney movie of all time. Enjoy 🥰
